Buy Telegram Stars and Premium from Spain and LATAM with Crypto (2026)
Spanish-speaking users arrive at this problem from three directions: someone in Madrid who wants to skip the 30% App Store markup, a designer in Buenos Aires whose peso card gets rejected by @PremiumBot because of capital controls, and a developer in Mexico City whose MX App Store region doesn't match her US-issued card. All three have the same fix: pay on-chain in TON or USDT, with no App Store, no Google Play, and no bank card.
This article covers how the crypto route works from Spain and the main LATAM markets (Argentina, Mexico, Colombia), and what we won't claim. For the global picture, see our country restrictions guide.
Three contexts, one payment route
The problems in Spain and Argentina are different, but the technical solution is the same. Worth separating because the buyer's motivation changes:
| Country / region | Premium / Stars available | Main problem | Typical reason to pay in crypto |
|---|---|---|---|
| Spain | Yes | 30% App Store markup, MiCA fully in force from July 2026 | Clearer pricing, no store cut, self-custody wallet |
| Argentina | Yes, but payment is unstable | Capital controls (el cepo), inflation, peso cards declined | USDT is already the everyday savings tool |
| Mexico | Yes | App Store region and card-issuing country mismatch | Skip the region check without moving your Apple ID |
| Colombia | Yes | Same App Store / card mismatch, plus FX fees | Pay straight from a wallet, no COP → USD → product conversion |
| Venezuela | Technically yes | USDT is de-facto currency in many stores; Telegram and Stars work | Mentioned here as a factual data point only; see note below |
Spain: the standard European case
In Spain both Premium and Stars are available without restriction. The regulatory constraints aren't on the Telegram product — they're on crypto service providers. The EU's MiCA regulation has been in force since December 2024, and Spain picked the maximum transitional period: full MiCA entry into force for CASPs operating in Spain kicks in on July 1, 2026. From that date, only exchanges and custodians with full MiCA authorisation can operate here.
That affects where you buy your TON or USDT (MiCA-authorised exchanges like Bit2Me, Bitpanda, Kraken, Coinbase, Binance) but not the payment flow itself. MyStars.tg is not an exchange and not a custodian — we're a payment processor for a standard Telegram gift. Your wallet stays yours.
Why a Spanish buyer would pick the crypto route over in-app:
- The price in TON or USDT skips Apple or Google's store cut, so longer Premium plans come out noticeably cheaper than iOS or Android.
- No KYC on our side — no ID, no email, no account. The wallet is the only identity.
- You can gift Premium to anyone on Telegram without them knowing anything about crypto or installing a wallet.
Flow in Spain: buy TON or USDT on your usual MiCA exchange, withdraw over the TON network to Tonkeeper or MyTonWallet, open mystars.tg, pick Stars (minimum 50) or Premium (3, 6, or 12 months), type the recipient's Telegram username, and pay via TON Connect. On-chain confirmation in 3–5 seconds, delivery usually under 30 seconds.
Argentina: the cepo, inflation, and why USDT is already in your life
Argentina is the clearest case in Latin America where paying in USDT isn't a crypto quirk but a habit. Data from Bitso (one of the region's largest exchanges) shows dollar-pegged stablecoins make up more than 70% of crypto volume in Argentina, with USDT alone around 50% of purchase volume. The reasons are well known: triple-digit inflation for much of the decade, capital controls (el cepo) that cap official dollar purchases at very low amounts, and peso cards that often don't clear on international payments.
In that setting our flow fits with almost no friction: you already hold USDT, you already know the difference between networks, and "price in dollars" is more predictable than "price in pesos". The one thing that matters: we only accept USDT on the TON network, not TRC20 (Tron) and not ERC20 (Ethereum). When you withdraw from your exchange, pick "TON" in the network selector. Funds sent on the wrong network don't arrive and can't be recovered.
What we don't do: we aren't a tool for getting around el cepo, and we don't operate in the parallel FX market. You pay, in crypto, for a standard Telegram gift. We also don't give tax advice — Argentinian crypto rules have shifted more than once; talk to an accountant if you're unsure.
Mexico and Colombia: the App Store / card mismatch
The most common pattern in MX and CO isn't a Telegram block — it's a collision between Apple/Google's rules and card issuers. A developer in Mexico City with an MX Apple ID and a US corporate card sees the purchase declined because card country doesn't match store region. A consultant in Medellín with a CO Google Play account watches her Colombian Visa fail Stripe's checks inside @PremiumBot, often without a clear error.
The workarounds tend to create more problems: switching your Apple ID to the US costs you apps and subscriptions; asking a US relative to gift Premium doesn't cover Stars you want to spend in a channel; dollar virtual cards work only sometimes. The crypto route skips all of it — buy USDT or TON on Bitso (active in both MX and CO), Binance, or your usual exchange, move it to your TON wallet, and pay on mystars.tg. Your App Store region stops mattering because we never touch it.
A worked example (Argentina)
A designer in Buenos Aires runs a paid Telegram channel and needs 1,000 Stars to test the paid-content feature. She has 15 USDT-TON in Tonkeeper, left over from a previous Lemon purchase withdrawn over the TON network.
- She opens
mystars.tgand picks 1,000 Stars. The price shows live in USDT. - She types her own Telegram username; the system confirms the account and shows her profile picture.
- She picks USDT, scans the TON Connect QR with Tonkeeper, and signs.
- On-chain confirmation in a few seconds; the Stars land before she can close the tab.
No card swap, no region swap, no human in the loop. The total was shown in USDT before she signed.
Honest limits
- We don't promise stable prices in pesos, Colombian pesos, or euros. TON moves against the dollar; USDT holds its peg to the dollar, not to your local currency. The total is shown in the token you pick before you pay — no surprise conversions.
- No KYC on our side, but you're not anonymous on-chain either. A TON wallet is pseudonymous. We don't ask for an ID, but transactions are public and analysable.
- We are not legal or tax advisers. MiCA in Spain, crypto rules in Argentina, SAT in Mexico, DIAN in Colombia — all of that is on you.
- USDT on the TON network only. TRC20 and ERC20 are not accepted, and payments on the wrong network can't be reversed. This is the most expensive user error we see.
- Not every Telegram account can receive gifts (bots, deactivated accounts, brand-new accounts). Our pre-flight check rejects most of these; anything that slips through triggers automatic on-chain reversal to the sending wallet.
A brief note on Venezuela
Venezuela is a separate case: USDT works as a de-facto parallel currency in everyday transactions, and Stars and Premium are technically available. We include it in the table as a factual data point only — no CTA directed at Venezuelan users, given the sanctions and regulatory context.
What we won't say
We do not "unblock" Telegram Premium in any Spanish-speaking country — none of the countries here blocks the product itself. We don't help anyone get around el cepo or foreign-exchange controls in any jurisdiction — we're a payment processor for a standard Telegram gift, not an FX channel. We don't promise regional rules will stay the same: MiCA enters full force in Spain in July 2026, Argentinian crypto regulation is under legislative discussion, and Telegram's own policies can change without notice. This article reflects the state as of April 2026.
